1934 Heddon Lure Catalog
This Gallery contains a Heddon
1934 Fishing Lure Catalog. The 1930's was a dramatic time for change in the
fishing lure world, and the world itself.
Heddon the the Spook Baits have made their introduction, and we see an answer to
a question often asked by collectors. What did or why is there a Heddon Fish
Flesh box and what does it mean. On the 8th page down in this 1934 Heddon Lure
Catalog we find out the answer as Heddon would market the "Indestructible Spook
Bait". " Here at Last"; True Fish Flesh that is irresistible to all kinds of
game fish....Not Made of Wood but transparent, wooden baits are very effective
yet, they lack that Vital thing - that true "Fish Flesh" appearance which is
obtained by the "fishy", scaly iridescent material an exclusive Heddon feature.
In 1934 Hitler was elected the Chancellor of Germany, Franklin Roosevelt had
already been elected to the Presidency of the United States. And our wonderful
country was head deep but seeing the ends to the great depression.
We see baits and advertisements for sales displays I would love to see today.
