Heddon Lure The Underwater Minnow Series 150

James Heddon in 1904 introduced what would become one of the quintessential poster children for Lure world, and still today with collectors, the Heddon 150. The color examples below are of later minnows then the 1904 - 1905 series we highlighted in the first page of this magnificent Heddon lure, although some not too far off.

Heddon Minnow Series 150 Differences

Showing the multitudes of Props, Eyes, Body Styles, Hook Hanger variations and Heddon Paint patterns one can begin to realize the daunting task to try and collect it all. The Heddon 150 collection shown on these pages is primarily a color based collection. While certainly the emphasis is having an example off all known lure colors and some of the antique lures Uncatalogued colors, attention to the quality of the lure is given first priority. Having colors which are coded the same, but painted different through the years is also an educational resource for the antique lure collector and enthusiast alike.

Heddon 150 Lure Value Differences

No preference is given to the order in which they are laid out in the Heddon 150 Galleries, in general it is based on the color name or description. Deciphering the collector based and placed rarity based on color should be done by an advanced or learned lure collector. Certain configurations of Props, Colors, and Hook Hangers are relative to such a task. But, it is not our primary intention on this web site to monetize the values, as the variance between what you see and what you may have may be so greatly diverse. Our intent is to share information, by visual representation of these and other antique fishing lures for your and our enjoyment.
