Antique Fishing Lure the Heddon Underwater Minnow
Series 150
The
antique fishing lure the Heddon underwater Minnow Series 150 is certainly
one of the most coveted lures by antique fishing lure collectors. Surrounded by
great innovations in technology and marketing the Heddon underwater minnow went
through a myriad of drastic to slight innovations throughout its years. Today
collectors of antique fishing tackle are given a multitude of choices of what to
collect. The Heddon 150 through the years always seems to make it to the top of
that list.
In 1904 we
see a major revolution in what was the norm for antique fishing lures.
James Heddon had been in business for roughly 2-3 years when a new ideas seemed
abound. For the previous three years we saw the implementation, design and
marketing of what were Heddon's core products. In 1904 the antique fishing lure
business in its infancy as far as artificial baits were concerned was destined
for change.
This
change would begin with such antique lures as the Heddon 150, the Heddon 100,
the Heddon 300. These 3 Lures were making their first appearance in the 1905
James Heddon Catalog. While we saw such baits as the Heddon Killer, the Perfect
Casting Baits, and underwater Experts earlier in the Heddon history. I believe
that the release of the lures in 1904 and subsequently being published in 1905
one of the most significant in Heddon's antique fishing lure history.
