Antique Lure Manufactures
One can
think of countless ways to interpret and disseminate between the various
antique, old fishing lures, and the fishing lure manufactures themselves. Old
fishing lure makers from ancient bone jigs, to handmade metal lures to
industrialized metal lures, on to the old handcrafted wooden lures, and finally
to the fishing lures of the 21st century. Each, though different, is and was
utilized for the same purpose, to catch fish. I think we as antique, old and
vintage tackle collectors forget that point sometimes in our quest to feed our
fishing lure addiction.
Whether it be out of necessity, or for sport, the basic intent is to land that
water dwelling beauty. Fishing, a sport which has evolved out of a humans basic
need to eat, into what some consider to be the ultimate escape, and now for the
lucky few that get to catch a paycheck while doing it.
Below
you'll see buttons that will lead to the antique and old fishing lure manufacturers. I'll try
to annotate some history surrounding the fishing lure maker and show some
examples their craftsmanship. There are and will be multitudes of fishing
tackle manufactures I will not cover due to the vast amount. To cover the entire list would be a task
that would take a lifetime. Over time I will continually add to and go more
in-depth with the subsequent old and antique fishing lure makers.
